HISTORY
Founded in 1988, Our Firm has over 30 years experience in the Design, Marketing and Advertising Industry. Whilst attending University, Lion Star Design Firm Founder, Holly Gauthier, started a Graphic Design business at just nineteen years of age. The Company was named; Mad Dog Designs and clients ranged from University organizations to local businesses. After graduation Gauthier continued her start-up company while simultaneously employed full-time in the Design/Marketing Industry, with such positions as; Virtual Sales Platform-Designer for Aetna, News & Sports Broadcast Designer for NBC News, Police Sketch Artist for Connecticut State Police/Missing Persons, Independent Marketing and Design Consultant for such companies as; Deloitte & Touche, Steelcase/BKM and more, before embarking on a long-term Commercial Design position at AT&T.
Throughout Gauthier’s employment, she continued to grow the business that eventually expanded to Art Gallery proprietor in 2001. The gallery named; Artworx Ltd. was located in the same building with the ever expanding Design Company, hence, Mad Dog Design became Artworx Design, along side the Artworx Ltd. Gallery located in Essex, CT.
Gauthier, a Professional Fine Artist, also pursues her painting career with much passion. Featuring works of drawings and paintings in the United States and abroad, Gauthier has many solo gallery shows to her credit, including museum shows and prestigious art awards. After the loss of her late husband in 2009, Gauthier decided it was time for a change. She retired from her position, after 14 years, at AT&T and channeled her energy into business expansion and refinement. Having branched off from the Artworx Ltd. Gallery location, the Artworx name no longer fit for the evolving company, so Lion Star Design Firm, LLC was born. A top-tier team was put into place to expertly manage all aspects of today’s sophisticated marketing, high-tech web development & integrated advertising needs.
Years later, Gauthier remarried in Mystic, Connecticut, prompting the studio move to Downtown Mystic on Water Street. Today, Lion Star Design Firm’s success in the industry continues to grow and expand in the form of distinguished results in the Global Markets.
